Landscape Water Conservation Foundation
CLCA created its Landscape Water Conservation Foundation, a 501(c)(3) entity, to:
- Educate the public about landscape water conservation
- Expand knowledge of conservation practices, and
- Support the industry’s efforts to do the same.
In 2014, the CLCA Board of Directors approved a task force to work on the creation of a new non-profit foundation to accept donations and pursue grants to further the foundation’s goals. In 2015, the foundation held its first meeting and appointed a board of directors.
In 2016, the IRS officially recognized the foundation as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, which, according to tax law, is a charitable organization that serves to promote the public good. Contributions to a 501(c)(3) are tax deductible as a charitable contribution.
In the years to come, the foundation seeks to provide funding to raise the awareness of appropriate landscape water use and to help those who are active in finding solutions to conserve our landscape water resources.
