Free Harassment Prevention Training Offered

Much like the masked super-hero who swoops in at the last moment to save the day, a state agency is offering free on-line harassment training webinars in English and Spanish.

California law requires all employers of five or more employees to provide one hour of harassment prevention training to nonsupervisory employees and two hours of training to supervisors and managers once every two years.

The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing provides the free online training courses in English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese and Tagalog, for employees and supervisors.

“I strongly recommend this harassment prevention training webinar. It’s easy to get through, convenient and you can take it anywhere. And in the end, you just print your certificate of completion.”

-Maria P. Abero, CLCA Accounting Manager

CLCA reminds green industry employers that:

  • Employers must retain a record of all employees’ training for a minimum of two years.
  • Employers must provide sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to employees every two years.
  • Employers must provide employees with a sexual harassment fact sheet.
  • The association’s HR Hotline is a valuable resource for harassment prevention questions and other workplace issues.
