Earn Water Management Certification
Next Workshop: San Luis Obispo | May 28, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The ongoing water shortage in California is real, and water budgeting is now enforced by law by the Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance. Becoming a Certified Water Manager is essential for your customers and your business.
Helping your customers save water is a great business strategy. Customers want healthy, beautiful, environmentally friendly landscapes that don’t cost a lot to maintain. CLCA’s Water Management Certification Program is a WaterSense labeled program that shows your customers that you have the knowledge and experience to help them save water and money.
Becoming a CLCA Certified Water Manager verifies your mastery of:
-
Irrigation System Design: How to tailor irrigation systems to match the surrounding landscape and local climate conditions.
-
Irrigation System Installation and Maintenance: How to select the appropriate equipment, lay out the site and ensure proper scheduling for optimal irrigation system performance.
-
Irrigation System Audits: How to conduct audits that can identify systems that are distributing water unequally or inefficiently and determine how to improve performance.
To become a Certified Water Manager:
-
Complete the irrigation audit introduction, which will be done at the one-day workshop.
-
Pass the written test with 70 percent or better (written test is given at the end of the one-day workshop).
-
Successfully complete the performance program by managing at least one landscape site for a rolling 12 months. This can be achieved retroactively, but verifiable third-party water records may be required.
